This article covers how to connect a Stripe Account to the GoFundraise platform.
You can choose to use an existing Stripe Account or create a new one during the connection process.
Currently, Stripe can only be connected through the Old Dashboard view (with the blue main menu on the left with the circle icons).
Please follow the steps below to connect your Stripe account and email support@gofundraise.com if you encounter any issues along the way.
- Visit the GoFundraise site for your region. Click the person icon in the top right corner, then go to Login > Admin (login with your Admin User account. Please email support@gofundraise.com if you are unsure of your login details)
- If you are using the ‘New Dashboard’, click the ‘Return to Old View’ button
- Once the old view loads with the circle icons on the left-hand side menu, click the Profile icon
- Then click the ‘Funds Disbursement’ tab
You should now see the Stripe setup fields like the screenshot below - Select which settings are relevant to your account
- Gateway Type: Custom Gateway
- Gateway Name: Stripe
- Preferred merchant rate: If you want to use your Stripe Accounts own merchant rates, switch to ‘User our rate’. Otherwise leave as default.
- Payment Gateway Name: Stripe
- Account Type:
To connect an existing Stripe Account to GoFundraise, select Account Type = Standard
To create a new Stripe Account then select Account Type = Express
- Finally, click the ‘Connect with Stripe’ button
- If you selected Account Type = Standard, you will be directed to login to your existing Stripe account. Follow the prompts on the Stripe pop-up and let us know if there are any issues.
- If you selected Account Type = Express, click the ‘Complete Information’ button to complete your new Stripe Account setup. Follow the prompts through Stripe to setup your account (verify details, proof of identity, bank details etc).
- If you selected Account Type = Standard, you will be directed to login to your existing Stripe account. Follow the prompts on the Stripe pop-up and let us know if there are any issues.
Once you have connected your Stripe Account to GoFundraise successfully (and your account has been verified by Stripe), please Submit a Request with our Customer Care team so we can check that your connection has been setup correctly.
Once approved, the Stripe Account, the 'Pending' column of the Funds Disbursement area will say 'No pending request'.
